MEDIA RELEASE – JULY 25, 2013 NORTH HASTINGS JOINT FIRE SERVICE BOARD APPOINTS DEPUTY CHIEF/TRAINING OFFICER & FIRE PREVENTION OFFICER
Mayor Bernice Jenkins of the Town of Bancroft and Deputy Mayor Gregg Roberts of Municipality of Hastings Highlands and Board Chair of the North Hastings Fire Service Board joined with Chief Pat Hoover at the Hastings Highlands Fire Department, Herschel South Hall announced recent additions to the Fire Administration staffing for the Board that serves the two municipalities.
Board Chairman Gregg Roberts announced the appointment of Derek Fraser as Deputy Chief/Training Officer, Matthew Musclow as Fire Prevention Officer and Christine Hattin has been hired as the Administrative Support. These appointments will be confirmed as By-Laws are considered by each municipality in the weeks ahead.
Hastings Highlands Deputy Mayor Gregg Roberts on behalf of Mayor Vivian Bloom said “We are fortunate to find suitable candidates from within our ranks and look forward to moving ahead as we continue our work to ensure that we have the best trained force possible and are equipped to meet the ever changing requirements of the Province for Fire and Emergency Services”.
“I’m thrilled to be part of this announcement and am looking forward to working with both of these gentlemen” said Mayor Bernice Jenkins. “These are important appointments that will add to the success of this new service which both municipalities have recently created” added Mayor Jenkins.
“These positions will allow us to meet our mandates from the Ontario Fire Marshals Office and better serve our community as a whole in providing fire protection and prevention” added Fire Chief Pat Hoover.
